Within the class reading the book " Situated Language and Learning"  by  James Paul Gee goes to  discuss how language plays a crucial role in learning and how it is deeply connected to social practices and contexts. Gee proceeds to present a framework for understanding language not just as a tool for communication, but as something inherently tied to identity, culture, and the way we interact with the world. There was one chapter that stood out to me because I felt that I can relate to it in a personal way. The chapter that I focused my attention towards and found most of my information insightful would be chapter  5 learning and gaming and what a coincidence that this is the topic of the week but this chapter really resonated with me because I can relate to it and I can visualize others who also used gaming as a tool.      This week’s reading reactions were actually very interesting as they involve learning and games together which is something a lot of people will believe that it’s impossible to learn information while playing a game. I can tell you it is very possible learning from games because its enticing. Students will want to learn with a similar way they spend their free time doing. They are familiar with the concepts.        I feel that learning and having fun is a great way to absorb information and it stay with you and not just going in one ear and out the other. Gaming is the future and the present because just about every kid and majority of adults play games for their free time.  It's a fun and creative way to spread knowledge. It shows to be very useful from experience.  This is key to education and a way to connect to the younger generation. I sat there and thought to myself and said why don't we use this as a tool instead of frown upo...

I find hypertext to be a great tool for students to use especially for projects needing a lot of information and external sources. This is a way to learn about certain things within an article that can help them discover a deeper meaning of anything. Using hyper links can help expand our thinking and create a useful tool for all.       The question asked in my head a lot was why are these hypertexts important and useful to us now and here is what I found to wander that question, Hypertexts allow us to access information easier swell as find different sources needed without the manual labor of going and searching of them. Hypertexts also  make it a lot easier to organize large amounts of information like  Websites, blogs, and digital encyclopedias which rely on these hypertext to categorize and connect i...
